Winnetka is located on the Lake Michigan shore north of Chicago. There are three parks that provide access to fish the lake.

Tower Road Beach / Winnetka Power Plant


Lloyd Park


Maple Street Park


Directions to Tower Road Beach / Winnetka Power Plant:
From I-94, take Tower Road east.
North (Left) on Sheridan Rd.
East (Right) at the entrance to the beach. The road is very steep.

Directions to Lloyd Park:
From I-94, take Tower Road east.
South (Right) on Sheridan Rd.
East (Left) at the entrance to the park. The road is very steep.

Directions to Maple Street Park:
From I-94, take Tower Road east.
South (Right) on Sheridan Rd.
East (Left) at the entrance to the park. There is a steep foot path that leads to the Lake.

Fishing options in Winnetka:
  • Casting spoons, jigs or lures.
  • Fishing with bait under bobbers.
  • Tight line fishing with bait.

    Best times to fish Winnetka:
  • Coho Salmon - October.
  • Chinook Salmon - September through October.
  • Brown Trout - October through April.
  • Steelhead - November through April.
