Since 1881, when Ernest F. Pflueger founded a fish hook company called the Enterprise Manufacturing Company, the Pflueger name has been part of the fishing industry. His son Earnest A. The Pflueger President Spinning Reel has 9 ball bearings and is a favorite spinning reel for all types of fishing. The Pflueger President Spinning Reel has a lightweight durable magnesium body and rotor. The President spinning reel has 9 stainless steel ball bearings. Ball bearing locations: 2 on the pinion gear, 2 on the main gear, 1 on the oscillation gear, 1 on the line roller, 1 on the spool shaft, and 2 on the handle knob. All ball bearings are double-shielded stainless steel. Both sides of the bearing are covered with a metal shield between the inner and outer races. This shield helps protect the bearing by preventing dirt and grit from entering the bearing area. The Pflueger President Spinning reel has a one way clutch instant anti-reverse bearing. Also known as a 'one-way clutch' or 'instant anti-reverse', the clutch bearing consists of a number of needle bearings which turn in one direction only. With traditional dog and ratchet style anti-reverse systems the angler experiences some back play in the rotor or handle. The amount of back play depends on the number of teeth on the ratchet, the more teeth the less back play. With a clutch bearing there is no back play which delivers faster, more solid hook sets. The President has a double anodized machined aluminum spool with a distinctive hole pattern to achieve lighter weight. The spool has a Titanium spool lip for added line protection. Sure-Click bail provides an audible signal when bail is fully opened and ready to cast. The bail has an anti-twist titanium line roller. Smooth front drag system with stainless steel and oiled felt washers and audible drag adjustment. A machined aluminum handle with a rosewood knob is included. The 6750 and 6760 models have a soft touch knob. The Pflueger President Spinning reel is convertible to right or left hand retrieve. A spare aluminum spool is included.
